Around the Glasgow Subway

The Glasgow Subway is the World's 3rd oldest Subway and recently celebrated it's 115th Birthday on the 14th December 2011.

The Glasgow Subway is made up of 2 tracks, the Inner and Outer Circles and has a total of 15 stations.

Fondly nicknamed the Clockwork Orange, the Glasgow Subway is currently undergoing a a major upgrade to the tune of £290 million pound.  The first station to be completed was Hillhead in the West End, which was officially re-opended on Monday the 17th of September 2012.

As part of the modernisation, there are also plans for an 'Oyster style' card to be introduced to the Glasgow Subway.

The Glasgow Subway also have their own app, available to download from iTunes.
