It's amazing how many great venues in Glasgow are converted Churches!
From Whisky Bars to popular locals, these are just some of our favourites:
Oran Mor
Without a doubt Oran Mor is one of the west ends major hotspots. Situated at the top of Byres Road, it is one of the most unique venues for a night out. Originally a church, the Oran Mor has been converted into one of the west ends proudest social hubs. Fancy dinner? Well you have 2 restaurants within to chose from (including private hire function); two bars and a nightclub.
Yes, Oran Mor really is all that. But not just content with being a social highlight, it is a cultural one to. During the autumn and spring, do check out the Play, Pie and a Pint run that is home to some great talent from within literacy arts community.
If you head to Oran Mor’s nightclub on a Thursday, you can enjoy the disco tunes from DJ Mark Robb (entry £4), whilst Friday hosts an unrivalled mash-up of tunes that will certainly have you on the dance floor (entry £6). But one of the most popular is without doubt is Saturday night’s electro/indie/R and B bonanza (entry £8).
So whether you want the chilled out atmosphere in The Whisky Bar, have dinner and some conversation or let your feet head for the music, Oran Mor is definitely a great west end fixture.
