Destination shopping

It's fair to say for many people in the UK, shopping or should we say 'retail therapy' is something of a national sport.  If you want to bypass the city centre there are a number of great centres right on our doorstep.

Glasgow Fort

240 Provan Walk, Glasgow G34 9DL
Telephone: 0141 771 2833

The Glasgow Fort is one of Scotland’s newest but most popular shopping centres that is made very accessible through motorway links (exit at junction 10 on the M8) and now with a handy bus service, getting there has never been easier! And there really is a wide range of shops tailored to the whole family: Early Learning Centre, Zavvi, Zara, River Island Topshop, Jane Norman, are just a handful of the well known high street names on offer.  Not including the restaurants and cafes-the choices really are vast. And if parents desire, there is a crèche service available (ages 2-9) with a fully qualified nursery assistant.

Silverburn

Barrhead Road, Glasgow G53 6QR

This American style shopping mall provides a vast array of different shops from jewellery boutiques and gift shops to Debenhams department store and many other well known high street fashion stores. There are shops to suit all budgets from Topshop, River Island and New Look to high end high street shops such as Coast, Kurt Geiger and Hobbs. Finish your shopping trip by refuelling at one of their many restaurants – no fast food outlets in sight!

There are over 4500 car parking spaces at Silverburn or alternatively for a car free option take the dedicated Silverburn Express bus number X8 that runs every 15 minutes from Glasgow City Centre.  Regular Silverburn Express bus services also operate from Govan Subway Station.
