As any new parent knows, the time spent with your children is one of the most important times in both yours and their lives. Finding the right activity is crucial: it is time spent bonding, time to allow the development of an infant’s cerebral and motor skills and to advance their interactive and social skills. Luckily, Glasgow has a verity of things to do, so parents never need worry! With lots on offers for the kids, Glasgow can be proudly crowned one of the most child friendly cities.

Located in the south side of Glasgow, the Busy Bees Craft Studio offers an array of activities for young children to try their hand at being the next Picasso! Beanscene
1365 Argyle St, Kelvingrove, Glasgow, G3 8AF (telephone: 0141 357 4340)
Or 40-42 Woodland Rd, Woodland, Glasgow, G3 6UR (telephone: 0141 352 9800)
Or 110 Battlefield Rd, Langside, Glasgow, G42 9JT (telephone: 0141 636 6977)
Unlike so many other cafes and eateries in towns and cities, Beanscene is the hub of where parents can meet for a coffee and bring their child along too. This is because Beanscene is one of the most child orientated cafes out there in Glasgow.
With its ultra-comfy leather sofas, range of fantastic coffees and often lively music and long opening hours, you would be forgiven for thinking Beanscene would be an unlikely place to take your child.
Wrong! It is one of the most popular places for parents to meet up. With its blended mixture of grown up tastes whilst catering to the kids, Beanscene is the place to head when mum needs a coffee without having to stress about changing facilities. In fact, you can rarely visit without seeing several groups of relaxed parents with all the usual baby paraphernalia-the buggy, the changing bag....
The facilities are catered toward parents with very young children in mind. The changing facilities are generously sized and there are various toys and books to keep the children occupied-you can even bring your own from home, as well as a television that normally has a family film playing in the background. High chairs are provided (a bonus!) to make eating all the more hassle free.
And with an impressive menu range-including several kids’ choices- ensure that there really is something for everyone and allows the parents to relax and socialise, whilst never compromising its family feel to it.
With outlets in both the south and west end of Glasgow, Beanscene has quickly established itself as one of Scotland’s most popular coffeehouses and is something of a real rarity in blending relaxed grown up styles and child welcoming vibes.

Garscube Community Playrooms
2 Manresa Place, Glasgow, G4 9SZ
The Garscube Playrooms is a soft play area that babies and pre-schoolers in particular will love. Not just content with one room, not even two but three whole rooms dedicated to fun.
The Garscube Playrooms is a local community based project to allow parents to drop in based on the routine of the child. It is described as a nursery only with mum and dad nearby!
The first room is an arts and craft centre where children can try their hand at craft related activities, puzzles or read in the library corner. The second room is the imaginative room where children can experience musical instruments, dress up and create their own reality with play houses and toy kitchen appliances. But the main focus without doubt is room three, which no doubt is the favourite-the soft play area with the ball pit. This room also includes a parachute for games, slides so there is plenty of stimulation for the young ones.
The Garscube Playrooms is a handy cite centre location that can be accessed through subway, bus or walking. A small drop in fee is required or there is an annual membership of £12, so it won’t break the bank and will keep the young ones entertained.
Open Mondays to Friday, The Garscube Playrooms helps your child play, learn and also be involved in helping the wider local community. Give it a try!
