Things to do
right

Variety is the spice of life, as ‘they’ say, and ‘they’ would find it difficult to be bored in Glasgow. A feast of attractions, museums, galleries, shops and concerts make Glasgow the city of choice for thousands of international travellers and savvy Scots. In fact the infamous ‘they’ would say that Glasgow has the best bonnie buildings and banter in the world!

Kelvingrove Art Gallery

There’s always something going on in Glasgow from intimate gigs to large stage productions. Whether you fancy a late lunch down a cobbled street in the city’s West End or a relaxing stroll around one of several leafy parks and gardens, Glasgow has a multitude of things to do both in and around the city.

Several of Glasgow’s noteworthy buildings were designed by local lad, Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Further information about Mackintosh can be found at the House for an Art Lover, an excellent cultural attraction that delves into the designer’s life and work. Alternatively you can marvel at the merits of Mackintosh over a cake or two at the world famous Willow Tea Rooms designed by Charles Rennie himself in 1904.

For a day on the high seas, head down to the newly developed Glasgow Harbour - the home of The Tall Ship. This magnificent boat has been lovingly preserved and is now used to interpret maritime history for the benefit of local people and visitors to Glasgow.

If the heavens decide to rain on your parade spend the day spotting artefacts at one of 13 city owned museums. The Burrell Collection is a firm favourite with locals and tourists alike due to its unique display of art objects from around the world. The city is also the home of the Scottish Opera, the Scottish Ballet and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra.

Exploring Glasgow couldn’t be easier with a fast and efficient Underground network and frequent bus and train services.
